The week, we’re looking at a final Phase One practice, spiritual ritual. Fight-or-flight responses are isolating. So, for those who already have an established belief system, connect with something larger than ourselves can restore us to the sanity of a rest-and-digest state.
As I mentioned in the video, there are a lot of different beings we might consider “Powers greater than ourselves.” In addition, there are many ways to connect with those powers. For some, it will be prayers0 or rituals like rosary beads, chanting, or channeling. This is the place where our faith serves us most.
If you don’t have an established practice, this is not the place to create one. Over the next few questions, we will discuss different ways to define a Power greater than ourselves. You can use your practice in relation to the resources you consider most advantageous to you.
What is the universe to you? Do you believe in a Deity or Deities outside of yourself? Do you believe in the One Mind or Interconnectedness? Do you think there is no connection, no Divine Source?

During different times, we may have different sources who are there for us. For some of us it may be friends or family, for others, it is our sponsor or a meeting. Who are your connections when you are struggling? Do you have more than one? Are there any practices you are using that help you restore your sanity?

For all of us, it is the power of the subconscious mind that dictates our lives, for suffering and for success. To make real change, we must become consciously involved in our evolution. As we do, we must use the language of the subconscious mind to make real impact. However, the subconscious mind does not speak in words or even thoughts. It speaks in feelings. Using the language of the subconscious mind, think of a feeling you connect to who you’ve been in the past, something you would never like to feel again in the future. What feeling of your old self are you ready to release?

The most important concept in this program is the concept that principle is not bound by precedent. Just because something has always been, does not mean it will always be. As we continue our practices this week, we’re going to release the idea of fixing ourselves. We are not broken. We don’t need to be fixed. We are where we are now from the life we’ve lived to date. Much more is possible for us, more than we can possibly imagine, especially if we can learn to identify with a version of ourselves beyond our addiction.
If your life was restored to sanity, how would that look? Is it something you’ve experienced before, or do you see it as something new?
This response will be awarded full points automatically, but it can be reviewed and adjusted after submission.
We are all more than our history. We are infinite, boundless, and whole, and we have the right to live unapologetically. Every day we have the opportunity to become more of who we are, and when we approach it at a feeling level, change can happen quickly.
If you were able to live beyond those things you are releasing, if you were able live that sane life, how would it feel? Give a detailed description of how that life feels in your body, in your mind, and in your soul.

For the rest of the week, I would like you to spend at least twenty minutes twice a day evoking the feeling of your life “restored to sanity.: You don’t need to consciously worry about the feeling you would like to release. If it comes up, consciously choose to shift, but whether it comes up or not, I would like you to spend twenty minutes as you fall asleep and twenty minutes again when you wake up consciously evoking the feeling of your healthiest self. Try to really feel it, believe it. The more you can embody it, the more likely you are to create it.
As you move through the week, take notes. Is it easy for you to evoke the feeling of your ultimate self? What other things are you noticing in your life as you engage in the practice? Is the emotion you wanted to release lessening? Is it affecting more than just your emotions? Are there other advantages as well?
This response will be awarded full points automatically, but it can be reviewed and adjusted after submission.
