The human brain does not store information like data. It uses connections. So, any time we try to assimilate new information, it is best to find a way to associate it, but you don’t need to find the association, the subconscious mind will do that for you if you contemplate how the information is relative to you.
For this next step of the practice Assimilate and Articulate, select a small portion of the notes you took and ask yourself how they are relative to your life. What does this new information mean to you? What’s possible in your life if you implement it? How will you use them? Why are they important? Can you find connections between them and something you already know, like an interesting coincidence or synchronicity? Spend a few minutes writing what comes to you in your contemplation

After you are done, you can discard the notes. Once you’ve formed a relationship with them, they become usable information in your subconscious mind. This opportunity to let go and trust you will be able to access them when you need them frees the mind from tracking them. Every time we can let go, our brain becomes just a little bit healthier. The more we can release, the healthier we are.
How does it feel discarding the notes? If you feel yourself wanting to hang on, why is it difficult to let go? Try a little more Assimilation and Articulation and see if that helps. When you feel comfortably connected with the information. It will be easy to release.
When you are ready to let go, ask yourself, “What is possible for me now that was not possible before I did this practice? What have I learned from my notes?”

You can continue this practice throughout the week by reusing the practice questions. Just return to your original notes and gather another section for contemplation.
